Check if Adobe Acrobat Reader is up-to-date
- Go to Adobe’s official website and download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Run the installer and follow the instructions to install Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Restart your computer.
Disable hardware acceleration
- Open Google Chrome and navigate to Settings > Advanced.
- Scroll down and click on the Change button under Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Toggle the setting to Off.
- Restart Chrome.
- Clear the browser cookies
Launch Google Chrome, click the Menu button, and select Settings. - Click Advanced to open the settings page.
- Click the Clear browsing data link.
- Click the checkboxes next to Cookies and other site and plugin data and Cached images and files, and then click the Clear data button.
- Restart Chrome.
- Update Chrome
- Launch Google Chrome, click the Menu button, and select Settings.
- Click About Google Chrome.
- Click the Check for update button.
Disable the Adobe PDF service
- Open Run by pressing the Windows key + R hotkey, enter services.msc in the Open box, and click OK.
- Double-click the Adobe PDF Engine service to open its window in the shot directly below.
- Select the Disabled option on the Startup type dropdown menu, and click the Start button.
- Then restart the desktop or laptop.
Reset Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome > type chrome://flags/ in the search bar.
- Find Reset and print out settings, and set it to Default.
- Restart Google Chrome.
- Check for the Chrome PDF error.
