The YouTube privacy settings are super important, and it’s incredibly useful to be able to control what kind of content is displayed in your feeds.
However, many users reported private videos not showing up in YouTube search, and they might be experiencing the error:
> So I’ve uploaded a video. It was private and unlisted. I clicked “unlisted” > and then “unlist”. The video shows up in my upload history, but not on my > channel or anywhere else.
- Errors on Youtube happen for various reasons, and one of them is the incorrect privacy settings.

Update your YouTube app
- Install the latest version of the YouTube app from the play store.
- Check if your YouTube app is up to date.
- Try updating your YouTube app and see if it helped.
- Clear Cache, Cookies, and Data.
Navigate to Settings > Apps > YouTube > Storage > Clear cache. - Reinstall YouTube app
- Go to Settings > Apps > YouTube > Storage > Uninstall.
- Tap the Clear data button.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for YouTube.
- Tap the Update button next to YouTube.
Reset your YouTube settings
- To do this, click the Menu icon, and select Settings.
- Now, select General, then under Privacy and Security, select Reset settings.
- Finally, click Reset Settings.
Delete your YouTube cookies
- Go to Google Chrome, open the browser, and then open the Settings.
- Scroll down to Advanced Settings and find the Privacy section.
- Click on the Manage Data for Websites.
- In the Website Data section, find the YouTube entry and click the three dots next to it.
- Select Remove All Website Data.
- Confirm the action.
Turn off your antivirus
- Some antivirus programs will prevent you from uploading videos by blocking the executable files necessary for YouTube.
- Disable your antivirus and temporarily disable other security programs during the upload process.
