Run the Windows Defender Security Center
- Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
- Navigate to Update & Security.

- From the drop-down menu, select Virus & threat protection settings.
- Select Virus & threat protection settings.
- Scroll down and under Real-Time protection, click on Run real-time protection scans.
- Click on Scan options.
- From the drop-down menu, select Custom.
- Select Scan options.
- Select Full.
Reinstall the Dwm.exe
- Open Start, and type in cmd in the search field.
- Right-click on Command prompt and select Run as administrator.
- In the command prompt window, type in the following command and press Enter: regsvr32 dwmapi.dll
- Press Enter to restart your computer.
Disconnect all USB devices
- You’ll need them again, so it’s better to be sure.
- Restart your PC
- Open Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
- Navigate to the Startup tab
- Find dwm.exe and click Disable
Update your video card drivers
- Go to Start > type Device Manager > select Device Manager
- Double-click the Display Adapters entry
- Right-click on Display Adapter Properties > select Update Driver
- Restart your PC
