The Chrome Webpage as PDF tool is a neat feature which enables you to download any webpage as a PDF.
However, many users reported the download PDF Chrome feature not working after applying certain Chrome updates.
1. Disable Protected Mode
- First, click the three-dot menu button on Chrome’s toolbar.
- Select the Settings.
- Select the Privacy tab on the Settings page.
- Select the Content Settings button.
- Then, select the PDF option in the Block Pop-ups section.
- Select the Done button.
2. Disable the Protected Mode
- 3. Navigate to the webpage you want to save as PDF.
- Press Ctrl + P (print), then open the Print window and choose Save as PDF.

5. Open Chrome

10. Open your default PDF viewer and open the PDF file
4. Open the PDF printer
- First, open Chrome and type chrome://plugins in the address bar.
- Next, click the Toggle button in the Chrome PDF printer to open it.
- Then open any webpage.
- Click the Print icon in the address bar to open a drop-down list.
- Select the PDF printer.
- Click the Print button to print the webpage.
5. Change the save as type
- Click on PDF in the Print dialogue box.
- Click on “Change” under the Save as type section.
- Now, select “Webpage, complete” from the drop down box.
6. Rename the file
- 7. Rename the downloaded file
- 8. In the browser, navigate to the page you wanted as a PDF
- 9. Click the Print icon (or Ctrl + P)
- 10. Select Save as PDF

11. Open the Chrome Webpage PDF in Adobe Reader

8. Try a different browser
- Try opening the same page with another browser.
- 9. Use another PDF reader
Check to see if the issue persists with a different PDF reader.
9. Use a third-party converter
- Download Foxit Reader and install it on your PC.
- Open Foxit Reader, go to File > Print….
- Select PDF as your printer and click OK.
- Once the print job is complete, the web page you’ve just printed will be converted to PDF and saved in your default download folder.
10. Use Chrome developer tools

15. Open the Network tab - 16. Copy the PDF file URL
- 17. Paste the URL in Google Chrome
- 18. Click the Load button
